Commercial Construction Waikato | C3 Construction
C3 Construction is expanding further into Waikato, bringing its collaborative approach to commercial construction projects across one of New Zealand’s fastest-growing regions.
With extensive experience delivering projects across the industrial, healthcare, education, aged care and commercial sectors, C3 has built a strong reputation throughout the upper North Island for practical project delivery, early contractor involvement and hands-on leadership.
As investment and development continue to accelerate throughout Hamilton and the wider Waikato region, C3 sees strong alignment between the region’s growth and the sectors the business already delivers successfully across Auckland, Bay of Plenty and Northland.
For C3 Founder and Director Michael Bowman, expanding into Waikato is a natural progression for the business.

“Waikato is a region with huge momentum. There’s strong growth across industrial, logistics, education and commercial sectors, and we see a real opportunity to bring C3s collaborative approach to commercial construction into the region.”
Award Winning Commercial Construction Expertise for Waikato
C3 delivers commercial construction projects across a wide range of sectors, including industrial facilities, education projects, healthcare developments, aged care, community facilities, commercial buildings and complex refurbishments.
The business has experience delivering technically complex projects involving live operational environments, seismic strengthening, Green Star requirements and highly serviced facilities, with a strong focus on programme management, quality and stakeholder communication throughout delivery.
“We like getting involved early, understanding what clients are trying to achieve and helping shape the project before construction starts. That early collaboration creates better certainty around programme, budget and buildability.”
“Our approach is very relationship-driven,” Bowman says.
Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) remains a key part of how C3 works. By partnering closely with clients, consultants and project teams during the planning and design stages, C3 helps identify risks early, improve buildability and provide greater confidence throughout the construction process.
As projects continue to become more complex across the commercial construction sector, C3 believes strong communication and experienced leadership have become more important than ever.
“Clients want experienced people around the table who can solve problems early and stay involved throughout the project,” says Bowman.
“That’s something we pride ourselves on. We’ve intentionally built C3 to be hands-on and collaborative from start to finish.”

Director-Level Involvement Across Major Projects
As Founder and Director of both 3Group and C3 Construction, Michael Bowman remains actively involved across major projects, ensuring clients have direct access to senior leadership throughout delivery.
With more than 19 years of project and site management experience across New Zealand and Australia, Michael has led projects across education, healthcare, aged care, research facilities and commercial construction environments.
“When clients work with C3, they know there’s Director-level involvement throughout the project lifecycle,” Bowman says.
“That creates faster decision making, stronger accountability and ultimately a better delivery experience for everyone involved.”

Meet the Waikato Team
Supporting C3’s growth in Waikato is experienced Quantity Surveyor Jamie Merrick, who leads the QS function across the business.
Jamie has been involved in the delivery of numerous large-scale commercial construction projects throughout her career, both at C3 and previously with Leighs Construction. Known for her objective approach and meticulous attention to detail, Jamie plays a key role in maintaining commercial visibility and project certainty across all stages of delivery.
Together, the Waikato team reflects C3’s wider approach to commercial construction: experienced people, collaborative delivery and hands-on leadership focused on achieving successful project outcomes.
Her strengths lie in cost planning, procurement, risk management and identifying practical solutions to complex commercial challenges. A highly structured thinker, Jamie works closely with project teams, consultants and clients to ensure projects remain aligned from both a financial and delivery perspective.
